Parent Club

A new campaign to keep kids busy, happy and healthy has been launched by Maree Todd, Minister for Children and Young People.

Parent Club will help parents and carers of primary school aged children with ‘small wins’ to make their day easier and improve their child’s learning and diet.

It is a campaign, by the Scottish Government, to provide parents and carers with support throughout their child’s early life and beyond and provides a platform to share tried and tested tips and ideas from other parents that can fit into daily life. Ms Todd launched the campaign with pupils from Lorne Street Primary in Govan and their parents.

She said: “Our new campaign acknowledges that while parents and carers do a brilliant job, they do experience many challenges and pressures throughout their day and as kids get a bit older it can be challenging keeping them busy and entertained.

“It’s hard work, but we all know that parents’ love and dedication has a lasting impact in terms of the development, health and success of not only their own children, but all of us as a nation. That’s why we have asked parents in Scotland to share tips, tools and ideas for other families.”
