The new school year is well and truly underway now, with routines re-established and school corridors once again filled with the welcome buzz of excited children.

After the upheaval faced by schools and pupils throughout the Covid pandemic, with lockdowns restricting face-to-face teaching and waves of uncertainty surrounding everyone getting back to the classroom, there is some sense of relief at the return to a semblance of normality in the new school year.

In this latest issue of Scotland4kids’ Teachers’ Edition, we have a special platform piece by the General Secretary of NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union, Dr Patrick Roach, focusing on the ‘pivotal moment’ the teaching profession is now facing.

Elsewhere, we have our top picks for future school trips and fun and simple ways to keep lessons interesting by taking the classroom outdoors.

We hope you enjoy it!
