The Grinch Cert PG

Release date: Friday 9 November

For their eighth fully animated feature, Illumination and Universal Pictures present The Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss’ beloved holiday classic. The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. The Grinch’s main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbours in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. With help from his loyal dog Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all. Funny, heart-warming and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Cert 12A

Release date: Friday 16 November

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second movie of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World™. The powerful Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided Wizarding World.
