Dance Base is a brilliant resource for the whole family, offering dance classes for all ages and all levels of experience.
Based in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket, Dance Base is Scotland’s National Centre for Dance and in its four spectacular dance studios you can go on a journey through dance with your family. You can bond with your baby in Baby Steps, then get creative with your toddler or pre-schooler in Dance ‘n’ Play or Creative Dance. Once your child becomes a bit more independent, they can try out classes on their own, like Mini Dance Academy, Street & Hip Hop, or Aerial Dance.
Meanwhile, parents and grandparents can try out a vast range of classes – everything from Ballet, Tap and Jazz to Ballroom, Tango and Cuban Salsa, to Bollywood, Belly Dance and Hip Hop. It doesn’t matter if you’re a lapsed ballerina, or a total beginner – everyone can dance and dance is for everyone. Visit dancebase.co.uk for more.
Oscars operates breakfast clubs, after-school clubs and holiday programmes throughout East and Central Scotland for children aged five to 14 years. Founded in 1992, the company has welcomed thousands of children to its centres over the years who have enjoyed participating in many diverse activities from sports and games to art, pottery and performing arts.
Founder Andrew Fisher explains: ‘The background to OSCARS success incorporates a number of reasons. These include keeping the activity programme fresh and inventive, making sure that there is always a good choice of fun activities for children of all age groups to participate in, and keeping the programme moving so children are kept active.’ He adds: ‘For parents, we have always aimed to offer flexibility, reliability and security in the quality of care given and to this day these criteria remain our guiding principles.’
