The Ideal School Trip Destination at Loch Insh

With over 45 years’ experience, Loch Insh is a trusted destination for unforgettable school residential trips. Founded in 1969, we’ve developed a proven approach to delivering safe, inclusive, and exciting outdoor experiences for schools and groups of all ages.

A Huge Range of Activities – All on One Site

Our wide selection of water and land-based activities takes place entirely on-site, meaning no daily transport and more time enjoying the experience. Activities are carefully planned and sequenced to build confidence, teamwork, and skills—always finishing the day with a dry activity for a comfortable journey home.

Working closely with our Schools Coordinator, teachers can create a bespoke programme tailored to their group, the season, and their budget.

Comfortable Accommodation & Great Food

Groups stay at Insh Hall B&B, offering warm, practical accommodation designed for schools, including ensuite rooms, common areas, and large drying rooms. Meals are served in our Boathouse Restaurant overlooking Loch Insh, with flexible menus to suit all dietary needs. BBQs are also available and are always a hit with students.

Safety You Can Trust

Safety is our top priority. Loch Insh Watersports is an AALA recognised centre, as well as an RYA and BCU-approved provider. Our fully trained instructors, extensive risk assessments, and on-site rescue boats ensure every activity is delivered to the highest standards.

Outstanding Value for Schools

We offer one free leader place for every 10 students, flexible pricing, and maximum activity time—making Loch Insh an excellent-value choice for school residentials.
