🎼 Programme
Jay Capperauld – The Great Grumpy Gaboon
Story and illustrations by Corrina Campbell
Conducted by Gordon Bragg
After sell-out performances in 2024 and a country-wide tour in 2025, The Great Grumpy Gaboon returns for even more fun-filled performances in 2026!
Meet the Gaboon’s cheerful friends — Long-legged Lin, Fluey-Lu, Woolly Wello, and Hoppity Boppit — as they try everything to cheer him up. But trouble is lurking… the mischievous Screature is hiding in the orchestra, and only the wise All-Knowing Umpet can help reveal the cause of the Gaboon’s grumps.
This relaxed concert is perfect for children aged 4–8 and supports inclusive access to live music. With storytelling, colourful illustrations, and playful orchestral sounds, the performance explores the importance of friendship, kindness, and forgiveness.
