The School of Signs is a FREE British Sign Language programme of study, designed to help children learn BSL in a way that is exciting and accessible.
Alongside 15 classroom-ready lessons delivered by Deaf teachers, we have also added a variety of games and interactive features to the platform to keep the whole classroom engaged, both within lessons and at home!
| Engaging games for every lesson: Each lesson now includes a variety of online educational games that students can access through their own logins. The variety of games allows students to practice their BSL in different ways, keeping learning fun! |
- Interactive flashcards and match-up games: Teachers are now able to run interactive flashcards for each topic designed for class smart boards. This new feature is excellent for whole-class participation and reinforcing new vocabulary in a visual way!
- Fingerspelling generator: An easy to use tool for students to turn names into a printable fingerspelling chart for practice.
- Choice of illustrated signs or video clips: We are adding more ways to use our dictionary, so that students and teachers can switch between illustrated signs and video demonstrations for vocabulary. This option facilitates different learning styles and helps with visual learning.
Plus new posters, printable resources, badges, and new how-to videos guiding teachers through the platform.
