Fischy Music is a Scottish charity with 28 years’ experience creating songs that help children recognise, express, and manage their feelings. With many children experiencing rising anxiety and challenges around emotional regulation, singing is a powerful and joyful way to support children’s mental health.
Our well-known songs, like ‘Build Up’, ‘You Are a Star’ and our new children’s Scottish national anthem ‘We’re the Land of Scots’, authentically address everyday challenges like friendship, inclusion, and resilience, as well as more complex experiences such as loss and grief.

Fischy Music Online, our Health & Wellbeing song-streaming platform, gives teachers access to over 150 songs to support children’s mental health covering themes such as emotions, relationships, the environment and Rights Respecting Schools. Resources include sing-along song videos led by Fischy musicians using actions or British Sign Language. More than 850 primary schools and organisations throughout the UK have a Fischy Music Online subscription, enriching the lives of over 170,000 children each year.
Research shows that singing boosts self-esteem, reduces anxiety, strengthens social connection, and supports emotional regulation. Group singing amplifies these benefits and our evaluation data highlights the lasting impact:
- 98% of respondents said Fischy songs positively impacted children.
- 97% reported that Fischy events supported Health & Wellbeing.
- 96% of teachers felt more confident using singing to support mental health after Fischy Music training.
