Scottish award-winning charity Wild Things! invites educators to join their accredited Woodland
Activity Leader Training (WALT) and Coastal Activity Leader Training (CALT) programmes this
August.
The course is open to teachers, youth workers and outdoor enthusiasts to become qualified leaders
in outdoor education. The programme equips participants with practical skills, knowledge and
confidence to deliver engaging and curriculum-linked nature-based sessions.
Professionally recognised by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and endorsed by
Education Scotland, WALT and CALT come at a pivotal moment as the Scottish Government’s new
Outdoor Learning and Education Bill expands access to outdoor learning across schools.
The programme is flexible, combining online self-led theory (£200) with practical in-person
training (£360 for three days or £720 for a seven-day course) and the team can offer bespoke
sessions – even travelling to you!
