Young people in the Scottish Borders are being invited to get creative and make some noise with VIBE in the Borders, an exciting music-making project taking place at Galashiels Academy this September.
Whether you love to sing, rap, DJ or play an instrument – or you’ve never made music before – everyone is welcome to get involved.
Led by guitarist Paul Griffiths alongside a team of musicians from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the sessions offer young people the chance to explore music in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment.
There’s no need to be able to read music and no previous experience is required. Participants will be encouraged to experiment, improvise and work together to create their own music, while developing new skills and building confidence along the way.
Best of all, those taking part will also have the exciting opportunity to perform as part of Borders Music Festival 2026.
When and where?
VIBE in the Borders takes place from 18–20 September 2026 at Galashiels Academy.
The session on 18 September runs from 2pm–4.30pm, with full project days running from 10am–4pm.
