Families considering Erskine Stewart Melville (ESM) in Edinburgh can do just that at its Open Day on Saturday 19 September 2026.
It comes at an exciting time for ESM as the school begins its next chapter as a fully co-educational school. From August 2026, the Junior School will be based at the leafy Ravelston campus, while Senior pupils will attend the historic Queensferry Road site.

During the Open Day, families will be able to tour the campuses, visit classrooms and specialist facilities and discover more about academic and co-curricular life.
Most importantly, prospective families will have the opportunity to meet pupils and teachers and get a real feel for the school community.
Visitors can also learn more about ESM’s move to co-education and how the change is shaping school life.
The school highlights a holistic approach to education, combining academic achievement with creativity, ambition and wellbeing. It reports that 95% of students secure their university of choice, while more than 600 Junior School children participate in choirs, orchestras, ensembles and bands.

Open Day tours will take place at 9am, 10am and 11am at both the Junior and Senior Schools.
Families wishing to see both can book a 9am tour at one school and an 11am tour at the other, allowing time to travel between the two Edinburgh campuses.
