Make Your Own Magical Silhouette Art!

Want to create something amazing using just paper, scissors, and a little light? Let’s turn ordinary shadows into extraordinary art!

Let’s Get Started!

1. Pick Your Star

Decide what you want to make a silhouette of. It could be you, your favorite toy, a pet, or even a plant!

2. Make a Shadow

Place your object (or yourself!) in front of a sunny window, or shine a torch to cast a shadow onto your paper. You can also go outside and trace the shadow of a leaf, flower, or anything cool you spot.

3. Trace the Shape

Carefully follow the outline of the shadow with your pencil. If it’s tricky, ask a friend or grown-up to lend a hand.

4. Cut It Out

Snip along the pencil lines to cut out your shape. If your paper isn’t black, color it in with paint, crayons, or markers until it’s nice and dark.

5. Make It Pop!

Glue your silhouette onto colorful paper or a painted background. Imagine it in front of a glowing sunset, a starry night sky, or even a jungle scene!

6. Add Your Magic

Decorate around your silhouette—draw, paint, or stick on extra shapes. The more creative, the better!

Top Tips:

  • Try tracing different objects—plants, people, toys, or even your pet’s ears!
  • Mix and match bright backgrounds for eye-popping art.
  • Most importantly, have fun and let your imagination shine!
