Gannet Games
April 23, 2022 @ 2:00 am - 3:30 pm

We’re thrilled to be taking part in Edinburgh Science Festival again this year.
Join the Seabird Centre team as they follow in the wingbeats of Georgie, a brave young gannet born on the Bass Rock, as she overcomes challenges in becoming a fully-grown gannet.
Saturday 9 April – 2pm – 3:30pm Sunday 10 April – 2pm – 3:30pm Saturday 23 April – 2pm – 3:30pm Sunday 24 April – 2pm – 3:30pm
Take part in some fun, interactive beach games to sharpen your gannet survival skills such as nest building, endurance, and speed. You’ll be amazed by the fascinating life cycle of a gannet, their incredible adaptations, and busy social lives, and come away with a newfound appreciation for this special species.
Start and finish outside the Scottish Seabird Centre. Activities will then take place on the beach, a very short walk away.
Participants must be accompanied by an adult (one adult per household). Please bring walking boots or shoes with good grip, clothing appropriate for the weather outside, a drink, any medication you may need, a face covering, a mobile phone and sun protection (on good weather days).
Event suitable for age 5+ Duration: 90 minutes
